First of all I am not from IIT .I did not loose my engineering days in college nor did I waste my school days preparing for the same.
I was sitting in one of the client dinners, and the Americans were going at length how Indians waste their child hood days studying and general perception is that after 4th standard every Indian child doesn't get to watch TV.
Believe me after Sardars, the second best known export (read IITians) from India, have indeed created the same image everywhere and Indian corporate world and companies are aiding the misconceptions.
These corporate babus have not given the country anything apart from dollars sent via western union transfers and like corrupt netas helped themselves in the due course of their lives.
Best manipulators and gainers of the Indian education system ,these champion muggers have reached the level where they have started influencing others life(including mine, reason why I have started protesting).

The Indian society (read parents and corporate) have worshipped them as if they are avatars of lord Vishkarma, the god's engineer.
Now few pointers for those who want to catch these buggers early.
In school, these are ones who are missing from the cricket, basketball matches.
Remember! Missing and not some one who is not even called.
Always championing the cause of private tuitions and coaching institutes.
